how to make money with AI without coding anything

When I first heard that AI could help me make money online, I assumed it meant building some kind of software product. I'm not a developer. I can barely write a basic formula in Google Sheets. So I assumed it wasn't for me.

I was completely wrong.

I've been running a profitable online business using AI for over a year, and I have never written a single line of code. Everything I do is accessible to anyone who can type and follow instructions.

Here's exactly what I do, and how you can replicate it without any technical background.

The Core Model: AI + Digital Products

The business model I use is straightforward: create digital products, sell them on a platform that handles the technical side, and use AI to create faster and better than I could alone.

Digital products are files people pay to download — PDFs, templates, guides, ebooks, courses, spreadsheets. No inventory, no shipping, near-zero cost to deliver. One product can sell indefinitely.

The AI part is how I make them without spending weeks on each one.

What I Actually Use AI For

Let me be specific, because "use AI" is vague to the point of being useless.

1. Creating the product itself.

For most of my digital products — guides, workbooks, templates — AI handles 60–70% of the actual creation. I describe the product to ChatGPT or Claude: "create an outline for a 25-page productivity guide for freelancers who work from home, focused on time-blocking and avoiding context-switching." The AI produces a solid structure and draft content.

I then edit, add my voice, verify accuracy, and polish. What would have taken me two weeks now takes me a weekend.

2. Writing product descriptions that convert.

Most product creators write descriptions that describe the product. AI helps me write descriptions that describe the transformation — what the buyer's life looks like after using it. That's a meaningful difference that shows up in conversion rates.

My prompt is usually: "Write a product description for [product] targeting [audience]. Focus on the outcome and transformation, not the features. Use a first-person, conversational tone."

3. Writing blog content for SEO.

I use AI to draft article outlines and first drafts targeting specific search terms. I write about topics related to my products, so the traffic that lands on those articles is already interested in what I sell.

I edit every draft before publishing. The AI produces a starting point, not a finished product.

4. Email sequences.

I've used AI to write welcome sequences, product launch emails, and re-engagement campaigns. Once written, these run automatically — no ongoing work.

The Platform I Use (And Why It Matters)

None of this works without a platform that handles the technical infrastructure. I use MadeThis for everything:

  • Store and product pages
  • Checkout and payment processing
  • Automatic digital file delivery
  • Customer management

MadeThis also has an AI co-founder built in — not a chatbot, but a business-level AI that helps with product strategy, pricing, and marketing planning. This is the part that genuinely surprised me. I've used it to work through which products to create next, how to price a new bundle, and how to think about growing to the next revenue level.

The reason this matters for the "no code" point: MadeThis removes every part of selling digital products that would otherwise require technical skills. Setting up a Stripe account, configuring webhooks, building a checkout flow — none of that is on me. I show up with a finished PDF and a product description. The platform handles the rest.

A Real Example

Here's a product I created using entirely AI-assisted workflow:

The product: A 30-page PDF guide called "The Freelancer's First Year — Financial Mistakes to Avoid." Aimed at new freelancers who had never managed irregular income before.

How I made it:

  • Asked Claude to outline a 30-page guide on this topic, organized by the first 12 months
  • Reviewed the outline, removed two sections that felt weak, added one I thought was missing
  • Asked it to draft each section in order, one at a time
  • Spent about 3 hours total editing, adding personal stories, and improving the voice
  • Used Canva to design a simple cover
  • Listed on MadeThis with an AI-generated product description I edited

Result: Live in one weekend. Priced at $27. Sells two to three copies per week from organic search traffic.

I did not write a single line of code. I don't even know how the checkout works technically. I just know it works.

What You Can Start This Week

If you want to try this without any technical background:

  1. Pick one topic you know well. A professional skill, a hobby that translates to useful knowledge, a problem you've personally solved.
  2. Create a simple product. Start with a 20–30 page PDF guide. Ask AI to outline it, draft it, then spend a weekend editing.
  3. List it on MadeThis. Free to start, handles everything technical.
  4. Write one blog post targeting a search term your buyer would type. Ask AI to help draft it.

That's the complete starting sequence. No code. No design experience. No technical background.

The barrier to entry here is genuinely low. The ceiling is whatever you're willing to build toward.
