How Much Money Can You Make on MadeThis? (Realistic Numbers)

I'm going to give you the honest version of this. Not the "this creator made $100K in a month!" version you see on Twitter. The real, realistic picture of what you can expect — and what it actually takes.

First, Let's Talk About Commission Rates

One thing people often miss when comparing platforms: Gumroad takes 10% of every sale. MadeThis doesn't.

That difference compounds. Here's the math:

  • You sell $3,000/month on Gumroad: Gumroad keeps $300
  • You sell $3,000/month on MadeThis (paid plan): you keep almost all of it

Over a year, that's potentially $3,600 that stays in your pocket just by choosing the right platform. That's not nothing. It's almost the entire cost of a decent laptop.

Stage 1: $0 to $1,000/Month

This is the hardest stage — not because the money is hard to make, but because you're figuring everything out at the same time. Product, pricing, traffic, messaging.

Most people who get stuck here do so because they spend too much time perfecting their product and not enough time selling it.

What it realistically takes:

  • 1–3 digital products priced between $15–$49
  • 500–2,000 visitors/month to your sales page or blog
  • Consistent publishing (blog, social, or email) to drive that traffic

My first month on MadeThis: $287. Not impressive, but real. By month three, it was over $1,000.

The jump from $0 to $1K is a consistency problem, not a skills problem.

Stage 2: $1,000 to $5,000/Month

At this stage, something is working. You know what sells. Now it's about doing more of that.

What changes at this level:

  • More products, or higher-priced products (or both)
  • An email list with consistent engagement
  • SEO traffic starting to compound

I cleared $3,000/month around month seven. What unlocked it: a higher-priced course ($197) that I launched to my email list. Before that, I was selling mostly low-ticket items and the volume required was exhausting.

My rough breakdown at $3K/month: two $197 products each selling 8–10 copies, plus a handful of lower-priced templates. Total: ~15–20 transactions/month. That's not a firehose of volume — it's sustainable.

Stage 3: $5,000 to $10,000/Month

At this stage, you're running a real business. You have systems. Traffic comes in without you constantly pushing.

What it typically looks like:

  • A primary product at $197–$497 doing consistent volume
  • An email list of 3,000–10,000 engaged subscribers
  • Passive income from evergreen content (blog, YouTube, Pinterest)
  • Possibly a membership or recurring revenue component

I hit $7,500/month in my best recent month. Breakdown: $4,200 from a course, $1,800 from templates, $900 from a monthly membership, $600 from affiliate income (not from MadeThis products — from other tools I recommend).

The 0% commission rate on MadeThis means I kept the vast majority of that. Running the same numbers on Gumroad would have cost me $750 in fees.

What Most People Get Wrong About Income Expectations

They underestimate time. Most creators who are making $5K+/month have been at it for 12–24 months. Not 3 weeks.

They launch once and give up. One launch to no audience is not a product failure — it's a distribution failure. Build the audience alongside the product.

They ignore email. Every income jump I've had came after growing my email list. Social media traffic is borrowed. Email traffic is owned.

They price too low. A $9 ebook requires 56 sales to make $500. A $97 product requires 6 sales. The math matters.

My Honest Take

If you work at this consistently for 12 months, $2,000–$5,000/month is very achievable. $10,000/month is realistic within 18–24 months with the right approach.

Those aren't lottery odds. They're the result of consistent, focused effort.

The platform you sell on matters less than the products you create and the audience you build — but MadeThis removes enough friction that you can focus on those things. That's why I use it.
