ChatGPT for Business: The Prompts I Use Every Single Day
I've been using ChatGPT in my business daily for over a year. I've tested hundreds of prompt approaches and settled on a core set that I use almost every single day.
These aren't from a "1000 AI prompts" list. These are prompts I've personally refined through real use, that have directly saved me time and improved my output.

The Context-Setting Prompt (Use This First)
Before any serious work session, I give ChatGPT context:
"You're helping me run a solo digital product business. My audience is [description]. My tone is honest, direct, first-person, not hype-y. I'm going to ask you for help with content, copy, and product creation. Keep this context for our whole conversation."
This single prompt changes the quality of everything that comes after. Without context, AI gives you generic answers. With context, it gives you answers that actually fit your business.
Content Creation Prompts
Blog post outline:
"Give me an outline for a blog post titled '[title]'. Target reader: [description]. Goal: help them [outcome]. Include: intro hook, 5-7 main sections, and a conclusion. Keep sections specific and practical, not vague."
Blog post intro:
"Write 3 different opening paragraphs for this blog post: [title]. Each should have a different angle: (1) opens with a surprising fact, (2) opens with a relatable struggle, (3) opens with a direct statement about what the post will deliver. Keep each under 75 words."
Product description:
"Write a product description for [product name]. Pain being solved: [pain]. Main outcome: [outcome]. Format: 3 paragraphs — the problem, the solution, the result. Tone: clear and direct, not salesy. About 150 words."
Email subject lines:
"Give me 10 subject line options for an email promoting [product] to people who are interested in [topic]. Mix urgency, curiosity, and benefit-focused angles. No clickbait."
Brainstorming Prompts
Product idea validation:
"I'm thinking about creating [product idea] for [audience]. Give me: (1) the most likely objections they'd have before buying, (2) the specific outcomes they'd want from this product, (3) 3 competing products they might already be using, (4) whether this seems like a strong idea or not — be honest."
Content calendar generation:
"I run a blog about [topic] for [audience]. Give me 10 blog post ideas that target specific search queries someone would type into Google when they're actively looking to [solve a specific problem]. Format as: post title + 1-sentence description."
What to write next:
"Here are my 5 best-performing blog posts: [list]. Based on these, what content gaps exist? What follow-up topics would naturally interest someone who read these? Give me 5 specific post ideas with titles."
Customer/Copy Prompts
FAQ creation:
"Create an FAQ section for [product name]. The buyer's hesitations are: [list hesitations]. Write 5 honest Q&As that address these directly. Don't be defensive — just be helpful."
Testimonial request email:
"Write a short email asking a customer for a testimonial after they purchased [product]. Tone: friendly and genuine, not pushy. Ask specifically about: what problem they had before buying, what result they've gotten, and who they'd recommend it to. Under 100 words."
Rewrite for clarity:
"Here's a paragraph I wrote: [paste text]. Rewrite it to be clearer and more direct. Cut any fluff. Keep the same meaning but make it tighter. Give me 2 versions."
Analysis Prompts
Competitor analysis:
"I'm looking at [competitor product] that sells for $[price] to [audience]. What are the most common criticisms and praise points for products like this? What would make a competing product significantly better? Be specific."
Pricing sanity check:
"I'm selling [product description] for $[price] to [audience]. Does this price seem high, low, or about right? What are they comparing it to when they see the price? What would help them feel the price is worth it?"
A Note on Editing
I never publish or use AI output without editing. The prompts above give me a strong starting draft — but every piece of content I publish has been heavily edited to:
- Add specific examples from my own experience
- Remove anything that sounds generic or robotic
- Match my actual voice
- Improve clarity in places where AI gets wordy
AI is a first-draft machine. I'm the editor and the human perspective. Both matter.
