This is the review I wish I'd had when I was deciding whether to use it.

What Is MadeThis?
For the uninitiated: MadeThis is a platform designed specifically for building and selling digital products. It handles your store, product pages, checkout, file delivery, and analytics — plus it has an AI co-founder built in that helps with product copy, business strategy, and content.
It's positioned as the tool that removes every technical barrier between "I have an idea" and "I have a live business." That's the pitch. Here's whether it delivers.
What MadeThis Does Really Well
Getting started is genuinely fast. I had my first product listed and a working checkout in about four hours on day one. That includes time I spent rewriting my description twice. For someone who's been stuck on "I need to figure out the tech stuff" for months, this alone is worth a lot.
The product pages look professional. The templates are clean and designed for conversion — not cluttered with unnecessary elements. My product pages look like they belong to a real business, which I think affects buyer confidence in a measurable way.
Automatic file delivery just works. Every time a customer completes a purchase, they receive a download email automatically. I have never once had to manually send a file. In six months and hundreds of sales, I've had exactly two customers email me about a download issue (both were resolved within hours).
The AI copy assistance has saved me real time. Writing product descriptions used to be my least favorite task. Now I give the AI context about the product and the buyer, it generates a draft, and I spend 20–30 minutes editing instead of 2+ hours starting from nothing. A/B testing is limited. I'd love to test two different product descriptions against each other directly in the platform. That functionality doesn't really exist yet. I do my own testing by manually tracking conversion rates before and after changes.
The email marketing integration could be deeper. I use a separate email tool for my list and there are more integration hoops to jump through than I'd like. MadeThis has native email features but they're not as robust as dedicated email tools.

What I can tell you is that the fee structure is predictable, the cut they take per transaction is lower than Gumroad's default, and the monthly cost (if applicable at the tier you choose) has been easily covered by revenue every single month.
For context: in month one I made $357. Even at the highest-cost scenario, the platform fees would be a small fraction of that. The platform pays for itself quickly if you're making sales.
Would I Recommend It?

If you're starting from zero and want to get a digital product live as quickly as possible without wrestling with code, payment gateways, or file hosting — MadeThis is where I'd point you. The simplicity isn't dumbed-down; it's deliberately focused on removing the things that kill momentum at the beginning.
If you already have a large, established business and you need maximum flexibility, advanced A/B testing, or an integrated marketplace with millions of buyers — you might outgrow it or want to combine it with other tools.
For the first 12 months of building, I've found it to be the right tool. My business is at the stage where I'm thinking about what else might be needed. Six months in, I'm not there yet.
The honest truth is that the platform isn't magic. I know people who use MadeThis and struggle because they haven't solved the traffic problem. I know people on inferior platforms who are doing well because their marketing is strong.
The platform reduces friction. You still have to do the work. But if you're willing to do the work, MadeThis is the best starting point I've found.
