Best AI Tools for Making Money Online in 2026
I'm not going to give you a list of 47 AI tools with affiliate links to all of them.
Instead, I'm going to tell you the tools I actually use to run my online business — the ones that have earned a permanent place in my workflow because they save time, improve output, and directly help me make more money.

The Honest Framework First
AI tools are multipliers, not replacements. If your underlying strategy is wrong, AI won't fix it. If you don't have a product people want, AI can't sell it for you.
But if you have a solid foundation — a product, an audience, a content strategy — AI tools dramatically compress the time it takes to do everything.
With that said, here's what's in my stack.
Content Creation: ChatGPT + Claude
I use both depending on the task.
ChatGPT for:
- Brainstorming product ideas and angles
- Generating outlines for blog posts
- Drafting product descriptions
- Creating FAQ sections
- Batch-generating social media post ideas
Claude for:
- Long-form first drafts (better at voice and coherence)
- Editing and tightening existing copy
- Complex reasoning tasks
I don't publish AI output unedited — I use it to get from blank page to rough draft, then I rewrite and add my perspective. The combination of AI speed + human judgment is what makes the content actually work.
Visual Content: Canva + Midjourney
Canva is where everything visual gets assembled. Product mockups, blog thumbnails, social media graphics, lead magnet covers. The AI features in Canva (background remover, Magic Write, AI design suggestions) have made it even faster.
Midjourney for generating unique images when stock photos feel generic. Product cover art, blog post hero images, marketing visuals. Takes some practice to prompt well, but the results are far better than stock photos.
SEO Research: Ahrefs (or free alternative: Keyword Surfer)
Understanding what people are searching for is how I decide what products to create and what content to write. I use Ahrefs for keyword research and competitor analysis.
If budget is a concern: Keyword Surfer (free Chrome extension) is decent for basic research. Google Search Console (free) tells you what you're already ranking for.
Email Marketing: Built Into My Platform
I handle email for my digital product business through MadeThis, which includes buyer notifications and customer management. For larger email list management, ConvertKit (now Kit) is the tool most serious creators use.
Automation: Zapier
Connects everything. When someone buys a product → add to email list. When I publish a blog post → post to social media. I have about a dozen Zaps running that save me hours every week.
The Tool That's Actually Running My Business
Honestly, the most impactful "tool" in my stack isn't an AI product at all — it's the platform I use to sell.
I built my business on MadeThis because it consolidates checkout, product delivery, storefront, and customer management into one place. Every tool I layer on top is valuable — but the foundation has to work first.
I did a deep dive on how it compares to the other options at /reviews/madethis. The short version: for lean solo businesses selling digital products, it's the cleanest setup I've found.
My Recommendation for Beginners
Don't buy 10 AI tools. Start with one:
- ChatGPT for creating your first product and writing your first sales copy
That's it. Add tools as you identify specific bottlenecks in your workflow. Over-tooling is a real trap — it feels like productivity but it's just spending money.
Build the business first. Add tools as they solve real problems.
What AI Has Actually Changed
The honest answer: AI has cut my content creation time by about 60%. A blog post that used to take me 4-5 hours now takes 90 minutes. A product that used to take two weeks to create now takes 2-3 days.
That means I can publish more, create more products, and test more ideas in the same amount of time. Compounded over a year, that's a massive advantage.
The opportunity cost of not using AI tools in 2026 is real. If your competitors are using them and you're not, they're moving faster than you.
Build smarter, not just harder. Start your digital product business on MadeThis — the platform that lets AI tools do their best work.
